Making the most of your kitchen space

Kitchens are one of the biggest investments we make in our homes, and there's often much more involved than simply choosing the units and worktops.

A successful kitchen needs to work for the people using it. That means thinking about preparation space, storage, large and small appliance positions, plumbing, accessibility and the way you move around the room.

At CDI Contractors, we enjoy helping clients explore practical ways to improve their kitchens, using years of fitting experience to identify opportunities that might not be immediately obvious.

How can we help?

A kitchen that works for you

You might have a clear picture of how you'd like your new kitchen to look, but knowing how to make the best use of the available space can be a different matter.

Years of fitting kitchens have taught us that even small layout changes can make a significant difference. From improving storage and worktop space to repositioning appliances, where appropriate alternative corner storage options and considering plumbing arrangements. We can help you explore practical options before committing to your plans.

Not every kitchen needs replacing

Sometimes the layout works perfectly well, but certain elements are tired, damaged or no longer suit your needs.

Replacing worktops, sinks, taps, units or selected fittings can make a considerable difference without the disruption and expense of a complete kitchen replacement.

We can discuss which improvements are practical and whether updating part of your existing kitchen is a sensible option.

Making everyday spaces work harder

Utility and boot rooms are often some of the hardest-working spaces in a home, particularly in more rural properties where muddy boots, wet coats, pets and laundry all need somewhere to go.

Whether you're improving an existing utility room, creating a practical boot room or combining the two, we can help with fitted storage, shelving, worktops, sinks, appliance spaces and other improvements that make everyday life a little easier.

Bringing the practical elements together

Kitchen improvements frequently involve plumbing alterations, appliance connections, sink installations and changes to water supply or waste pipework.

Because CDI Contractors undertakes both plumbing and kitchen fitting, we can plan these elements together, helping avoid unnecessary complications during installation.

Where additional carpentry, boxing-in or practical finishing work is required, we can incorporate this into the agreed project scope.

Your kitchen, your choices

We hold trade accounts with Howdens and Wren Kitchens and can help source your kitchen through these suppliers. We're equally happy to install kitchens purchased from other providers, including Wickes, B&Q, Ikea, and independent kitchen suppliers.

Whether you've already chosen your kitchen or are still exploring the options, we can offer practical guidance on layouts, measurements, materials and fittings to help ensure everything works together.

Before placing your order, we recommend discussing your plans and product choices with us. Even a well-designed kitchen can present installation challenges if measurements, plumbing arrangements or individual components haven't been fully considered.

Workplace kitchens & staff facilities

A practical, well-designed kitchen or break area can make a real difference to the people using it every day. CDI Contractors undertakes the fitting, replacement and improvement of workplace kitchens, staff rooms, tea points and associated facilities for businesses, schools and commercial premises.

Whether it's installing new units and worktops, improving storage or updating sinks and plumbing, we can help create facilities that are practical, durable and suited to their everyday use.
